The DLK/Kachel Fieldhouse addition to the Williams Center builds upon the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's core recreation, athletics and physical education resources with a state-of-the-art facility for competitive track training, education, and recreational use for students and the community. The 57,600-sqaure-foot Fieldhouse includes a weight room, racquetball courts, classrooms, 1,800-seat competition women's volleyball gym, and 2,760-square-foot training facility with offices, exam rooms, hydrotherapy room, and extensive taping areas.

Since completion, Williams Center Fieldhouse has become a key component of campus recruiting--and arguably the best facility of its kind in Wisconsin.

Sustainable Design

The energy-efficient Fieldhouse received a Renewable Energy Assistance Program grant by the Wisconsin Energy Bureau. Among the sustainable design strategies is daylighting within the training spaces to reduce energy consumption and motivate athletic performance.
