Overview

The expanded Communication Arts Building provides distinct performance and exhibit space for the University's growing music, theater and arts program. The project incorporates 91,000 square feet of renovated space and 72,000 square feet of new construction that includes a grand entrance and pre-assembly lobby. The renovation features an acoustically sound 340-seat recital hall, 120-seat black box theater, art-instruction studios, music library, two galleries, classrooms, and support space. In addition, the project moves 3-D Art into renovated space in adjacent Molinaro Hall.

The design complements the existing architectural character of the modern campus. A circular drive leads to the grand entrance on the west side, where expansive windows overlook a plaza and reach out the larger campus.
