In contrast to the adjacent historic Williams Arena, the Sports Pavilion presents a modern face to the University campus. The main entrance shifted to the west side to create a welcoming expression for the entrance lobby. The flexible performance court can be enlarged by retracting pop-up seats to allow two full basketball courts, three volleyball courts, or a gymnastics area. Special guests gather in an upper-level club room that overlooks center court. A state-of-the-art team room--which subdivides for multiple functions--is located at courtside between the coaches' locker spaces and basketball-gymnastics locker areas.
