The Pantages Theatre

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

The Historic Pantages Theatre and adjoining Stimson Building are part of an historic-theater revival along Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. Shuttered for nearly 18 years before reopening in 2002, the beautifully restored theater hosts midsize touring productions, live-music, dance, and other performances. Under HGA's design hand, the Pantages and Stimson building now form a seamless whole-an urban, pedestrian friendly, mixed-use renovation at the heart of the Hennepin Theatre District. The 990-seat theater includes expanded lobby, restored interior plaster and detailing, new auditorium seating, new marquee, and upgraded mechanical systems.

A classy, classic restoration that's intelligently and beautifully done.
