Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton

Braselton, Georgia

Overview

Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton positions its healthcare-delivery processes around the emerging Medical Home and Accountable Care models, which focus on collaborative care and improved patient outcomes.

Located 40 miles northeast of Atlanta on a 119-acre campus, the 100-bed community hospital includes Heart & Vascular services, Orthopaedics & Neurosciences, Cancer treatment, Surgery (focusing on outpatient surgery), and Emergency services. A satellite of NGMC Gainesville, the hospital shares healthcare services with a Medical Office Building housing urgent care center, imaging center, endoscopy suite, outpatient lab and therapy services, and more than 30 physician practices on the campus.

The planning centers on three measureable performance metrics--staffing and operations, sustainable concepts and lifecycle-cost savings, and improved patient outcomes and safety. Each metric enables the hospital to cost-effectively deliver quality care and services rivaling any larger hospital nationally.

Sustainable Design

The hospital include several resource-efficient technologies, including a geothermal system, reclaimed "purple pipe" water for irrigation, and "dark sky" lighting that reduces light pollution.
