Located in a 35,000-square-foot limestone building connected via skyway to the historic Museum of Science and Industry, the Space Center includes two components-a 10,000-square-foot hall for space artifacts and exhibits, and a 334-seat OMNIMAX theater. The theater features 70mm film projection onto a 7,300-square-foot hemispherical screen. A 12-channel, computer-operated audio system coupled with 12 clusters of speakers casts sound throughout the theater with clarity and power. The rolling-loop film projector provides pin-registered steadiness and unparalleled focus, which further enhances the realism of the picture.
