HGA is master planning a major transit-oriented, mixed-use development comprising approximately 6.9 million square feet of space. Conceived as a new urban neighborhood just west of downtown Minneapolis's entertainment and business core, the development is located at the juncture of the Northstar Commuter Rail and Hiawatha LRT lines. Minneapolis Union Station will be a complete urban community, with housing, shopping, dining and work places, surrounded by a greenway and park. HGA's planning process addresses parking, transportation, utilities and site infrastructure while considering input from neighborhood, city and county stakeholders to create a flexible framework that provides sustainable, long-term development value.
