Multidisciplinary Simulation Center

Rochester, Minnesota

Overview

The Simulation Center is a state-of-the-art medical-training facility that combines healthcare technology with a theatrical flair. The Center enables medical students to master highly technical procedures using electronically programmed manikins during simulated events. The 10,000-square-foot Center includes four simulation rooms, six patient rooms, support space, and advanced audio-visual technology.

The flexibly designed simulation rooms accurately portray the medical drama of operating rooms, emergency rooms, intensive-care units, and endovascular labs, in which instructors manipulate mannequins and adjust lighting and sound from an adjacent control room. This simulated scenario continues into flexibly designed patient rooms, which can be arranged as inpatient rooms, examination rooms, or debriefing rooms.
