Life Sciences and Fine Arts Building

Sacramento, California

Overview

Located at the north edge of campus, the 12,363-square-foot Life Science and Fine Arts Building serves as a campus gateway and entry to the Life Sciences complex. The brick-clad, L-shaped building visually plays off the neighboring Fine Arts complex to create a harmonious northern edge to campus while bringing together the Life Sciences and Fine Arts programs.

Students approach along a covered, curvilinear walkway. The interior program includes seven classrooms, five offices and support spaces. Active working spaces such as the interior design, fashion and art classrooms take advantage of maximum daylight while interior windows and skylights enhance internally located classrooms. Staff and faculty offices are located along the front to promote student access and interaction.
