This 26,000-square-foot, 1,000-seat church combines light, transparency and architectural forms to project a spiritual, community-focused presence. The church consists of a worship space, narthex, and support area. The worship space sits atop a platform base, its curving roof and light monitor rising above as a beacon to the neighborhood. A transparent outdoor entry and narthex welcomes worshipers inside, where translucent east and west glass walls allow in natural light while minimizing glare. The smooth, undulating ceiling with a contrasting curved form accentuates the liturgical axis. The light monitor sits directly above the raised sanctuary, providing natural focus on the altar.
