Multiple Projects

Various Locations Throughout California

HGA has directed ongoing projects for the Veterans Affairs (VA) at multiple northern California locations.

At VA San Francisco Medical Center, we prepared a $450 million master plan to guide the addition of new structures on the one-million-square-foot, 22-acre campus that includes 34 buildings. The plan integrates medical, research, administrative and educational programs, eliminating separate "silos." The plan also outlines options for sustainable landscape development.

Our work at VA San Francisco additionally included  seismic retrofitting for Buildings 9, 10 and 13; a 14,600-square-foot, multi-story expansion for building 22; and cost-effective seismic upgrades, exterior aesthetics improvements, and remodeled private patient rooms and nurses' stations for building 203.

For VA Menlo Park, we provided project management and architectural services for a 93-acre, 10-year master plan/built environment report. The report defines existing conditions, projects future campus development, and enhances services throughout the healthcare system.
