Bookstore and Dining Services Building

Los Angeles, California

Overview

Designed in association with Tate Snyder Kimsey, this three-story building is located at the heart of campus. The program includes a bookstore, food court, 600-seat conference center, language labs, classrooms, offices, kitchen, and university club. The design responds to campus circulation patterns, in which a curving path connects the north and south campus. The bookstore is located at grade in a curving, two-story architectural component. A covered promenade passes through the center of the building, encouraging students to enter from both directions. Outdoor dining and covered seating extend the dining functions into the campus.
