Overview
The California African American Museum (CAAM) is a state-owned facility located on the northeast portion of Exposition Park, home to the Museum of Natural History, California Science Center and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. With Huff Gooden as Design Architects and HGA as Executive Architects, the 37,000 SF renovation of the existing space and 77,000-square-foot addition expands the facility to 114,000 square feet to include Galleries, Sculpture Court, Resource Area, 300-seat Theater, and Administrative Support. Highlights include the Gallery of Discovery designed around interactive exhibits, the Permanent Art Collection gallery for the bulk of CAAM's collection, and a Community Gallery for program work and community shows.
Project is currently in fundraising.
