Overview
Established as a YMCA summer camp and college in 1884, Aurora University's George Williams College is an academic campus and former conference center on a 133-acre site along the Lake Geneva shoreline near Williams Bay, Wisconsin. HGA worked with Aurora to create a master plan that protects the campus's unique vernacular structures and replaces and updates outdated buildings with new lecture, classroom, residential and distance-education facilities. HGA retained the overall campus character with a consistent material palette of regional limestone and stained cedar, transforming the campus into a bucolic "university in the woods."
