Owatonna Hospital and Clinic Expansion

Owatonna, Minnesota

Overview

Accessible to Interstate 35 and 26th Street on a 20-acre campus with centrally located parking, the Owatonna Hospital and Clinic campus provides a responsive 21st-century healthcare environment that easily adapts to changing patient delivery and technological needs. Owned and operated separately-with Owatonna Hospital owned by Allina Hospitals and Clinics, and Owatonna Clinic by Mayo Health System-the hospital and clinic are two separate yet connected buildings. A shared light-filled, two-story lobby leads to inpatient hospital services and outpatient clinic functions. Shared amenities include a cyber cafe, family room, TV room, gift shop, local artwork, and Wellness Walk. Private patient rooms feature the latest clinical technology and comforting exterior views of the prairie landscape.

The 114,500-square-foot, 38-bed Owatonna Hospital and 47,000-square-foot Owatonna Clinic addition offer a new model of healthcare delivery. HGA master planned the campus to accommodate ever-evolving space demands, technologies and services. Visitors enter through a two-story vestibule into a light-filled atrium, in which an open staircase provides visual connection between floors to aid in wayfinding. Patients and visitors then easily access individual and shared resources between the two healthcare providers.
