Overview

Patrick is vice president of HGA's sustainable design practice. He has worked on many national projects that follow such sustainable-design guidelines as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating SystemTM; the State of Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines-Buildings, Benchmarks & Beyond (MSBG-B3); and the Green Guide for HealthcareTM. He is part of a national group of large architecture firms that supports the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) 2030 Goals for carbon neutral buildings by the year 2030. He also serves on the 2010 Editorial Advisory Board for Eco-Structure.

Sustainable design is integral to who we are as a firm and it’s at the core of our commitment to design excellence. If a building is well designed, people will love it and want to take care of it. They will use it and re-use it—and it will inspire people today and for many decades to come. Sustainability is inherent in good design.
