Joe is HGA’s Central Plant Leader with nearly 40 years of experience in mechanical engineering. He has extensive experience in the design and optimization of steam, hot water, chilled water and cogeneration central plant energy stations. He developed HGA’s predictive optimization process, Full Heat Recovery Engagement principles, and plant-building integration. Joe spent four years in the operation and maintenance of nuclear-powered steam plants for the US Navy. His areas of special interest and expertise include cogeneration; biomass gasification; hybrid heat geothermal heat pump systems; energy conservation; high efficiency central boiler and chiller plants; energy management systems; optimization of complex systems; high-pressure, superheated steam; condensing and back-pressure turbines; troubleshooting and optimization of complex mechanical systems; large tempered water systems; humidity control and indoor air quality.
