Event: HGA to Present at Healthcare Infrastructure Technology and Engineering Conference

HGA Healthcare Principal Mike Hess will present at the Healthcare Infrastructure Technology & Engineering Conference (HI•TEC 2017) in Singapore, sponsored by the Ministry of Health Singapore.

Improving Plan in Design Process through Virtual Reality (VR) Technology
Wednesday, March 8 at 11:00 a.m.

Session Overview:
“Overall significant process and schedule improvement can be realized in the early design phases thru the use of Virtual Reality Technology with hospital teams to achieve a better understanding of the floor plans, detailed room layouts and work flow metrics in their specific project. Hospital teams of physicians/staff can truly experience various planning options live in real time with the flexibility of making changes while in the virtual model based on the Revit/BIM drawings. The process facilitates a better decisions and outcomes by placing the hospital staff in the detailed interactive space within in the designed floor plan concept. As a result this creates a detailed mock up much earlier in the design phases, which leads to planning decisions confirmed early and fewer changes later in the process.”

This presentation will discuss how processes and schedules of healthcare projects can be improved during the early design phases using virtual reality technology. It enables hospital teams to achieve a better understanding of floor plans, detailed room layouts and work flow metrics in the hospital. It also allows staff to truly experience various planning options in an interactive, real-time design space (based on the Revit/Building Information Modelling drawings), thus allowing better decision-making and outcomes.
