HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) has won a 2011 AIA Inland California Chapter Honorable Mention for the School of Visual, Performing and Communication Arts at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The project won in the Institutional/Educational/Civic category.

The 70,322-square-foot, multi-building complex is part of a campus master plan by HGA that envisions an "Arts Village" at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains to consolidate the growing arts programs.

HGA designed the two key buildings in the master plan to enhance campus circulation, site views, and natural light. The larger Art Center, which is used for dance, visual arts and digital media, is strategically oriented as the village gateway on the campus' northern upper perimeter, with the smaller Music Building along the lower southeastern perimeter. The Art Center is visually open to the campus, allowing passersby to glimpse activities inside through expansive windows and glass bi-fold doors that expand the performance spaces to the exterior. The Music Building, clad in stucco and architectural panels, is more enclosed for greater acoustic and auditory accuracy.
